I knew a custom figure would take time and wasn't expecting instant delivery. What bothered me was not knowing what was happening after the design was approved. By the time it arrived, the leaving party was over and I'd already organised another present. The figure is still in its box.

The reunion gifts barely took up any room
Packed all ten keychains for our reunion without sacrificing half my suitcase. The faces and colours looked great when I checked them. Handing them out was one of my favourite bits of the trip. Everybody kept theirs close by.

My sister has this expression when she's pretending to listen but clearly planning something else. I wasn't expecting a tiny figure to catch that, but it really does. We spent most of dinner passing it round and laughing. Great birthday present.

My sister recognised herself before the outfit

Something for the crew
We wanted a small thank you for everyone helping at our little theatre. Used a photo of the director in his usual waistcoat for all ten keychains. He pretended to be horrified, then asked if he could keep two. Really pleased with how they came out.

My aunt has one of those faces people never seem to draw correctly, so I kept my expectations sensible. The preview was good and the actual figure is even better. The short hair and the shape of the smile make it unmistakably her. She's already shown it to her neighbours.

Made the party more fun
I put a matching keychain at each place for our little birthday dinner. Everyone assumed they were random characters until one person realised it was our dad. Then there was a lot of laughing and passing them round. Nice quality, but the reaction was the best part.
